Troy Guy Kadel, 33, of Erhard, was charged June 13 in Otter Tail County District Court with domestic assault by strangulation, domestic assault and fifth-degree drug possession, all felonies.
According to the criminal complaint, Fergus Falls police were called at 11:21 p.m. June 12 to a residence in the 200 block of North Union Avenue and found Kadel and a woman in a bedroom.
They reportedly got into an argument, and the victim told police Kadel choked her, causing her to lose consciousness. Kadel also allegedly threw her to the ground and grabbed her face.
Kadel was arrested and a preliminary breath test showed his blood alcohol level to be 0.112.
His probation conditions require that he abstain from alcohol use. Kadel was convicted of fifth-degree misdemeanor assault April 14, 2009, and felony domestic assault Oct. 7, 2009.
His next court appearance is scheduled for June 24.
