Bible tells Christians what is morally right [UPDATED]Published 9:49am Wednesday, June 19, 2013 Updated 11:58am Wednesday, June 19, 2013
I must wade into this discussion on gay marriage.
Let us admit that Christians can and do have issues and addictions that can be very hard to overcome, and real Christians don’t condemn, but offer grace, love and acceptance to those people as we help them through their struggles.
But we don’t try to normalize the behaviors, which only drives them away from Jesus, the one who can help them become whole.
I have heard of a man who divorced his wife and is now living with and having a “committed” sexual relationship with his own daughter. Can this be called an orientation? The reason that this is just as wrong as sodomy is that the Bible explicitly forbids both behaviors. Will pedophilia become a protected orientation too? What about bestiality? Is this OK?
I am just appalled at the ignorance of so many people who call themselves Christians and have no idea what the Bible teaches concerning these issues. If one can pick and choose which Biblical truths to embrace and which ones to ignore, well then “the sky is the limit.” You are certainly allowed your opinion on these issues, but if you believe contrary to the Biblical positions, how can you call yourself a Christian?
Read Romans 1: 24-32 and Leviticus: 18:22-23. The wonderful thing about Christianity is that all these addictive behaviors can be overcome and healed by the blood of Jesus Christ. Read 1 Corinthians 6: 9-11.
