Allen was born Dec. 15, 1940, to Donald Lowell and Alice N. Bakke, Dane Prairie Township in Otter Tail County. He was educated in Elbow Lake graduating in 1958.
Allen then attended Wahpeton School of Science for drafting. Following his time at NDSCS, Allen enlisted in the Air Force for four years.
Allen was baptized at Rock Prairie Lutheran Church and a member of United Lutheran Church.
On June 15, 1963, Allen married Sharon Evangeline Johnson, in Las Vegas, Nev.
Allen spent the majority of his life farming in the Elbow Lake area until his illness required him to retire.
Along with Allen’s hobbies of sculpting both metal and cement, he especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Allen was blessed with 14 nieces and nephews, 14 great nieces and nephews and a host of great, great nieces and nephews.
Allen was preceded in death by his mother, Alice Bakke of Barrett MN and his loving wife, Sharon Evangeline Bakke.
Survivors include his son Arvid Bakke of Alexandria; father, Donald Bakke of Barrett; a brother, Ronald (Alice) Bakke of Kelso, Wash.; two sisters, Beverly Jost, of Walker and Diane (David ) Odens of Elbow Lake.

Service: 2 p.m. Saturday, June 29, at United Lutheran Church, Elbow Lake
