This year will mark the 50th year of the design and dedication of the Vergas iconic loon. Everyone is invited to participate in the celebration at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 29, at the Vergas Event Center.
The Miss Vergas and Princess Altona Scholarship Programs will celebrate the World’s Largest Loon’s 50th birthday by hosting a “Look who’s turning 50” birthday party.
It will be a fun filled evening of commemoration, entertainment, and memories. This event will be admission by free will donation. The Miss Vergas Scholarship Program is planning a 1960‘s theme for the event.
The Queen’s Committee is asking all former title holders and Vergas supporters to help in the celebration by sharing your talents.
This could be in the form of songs, readings, skits, or other ideas you may have.
Many plans are being made to make this “Look who’s turning 50!” birthday party a celebration to remember.
Commemorative t-shirts are for sale at the Vergas Liquor Store, The Quiet Cricket, and through Melissa Bunkowske.
Everyone who purchases a t-shirt is encouraged to take part in the community picture down by the Big Loon at 4 p.m., Saturday, June 29.
