Pierce damages door at behavioral hospital [UPDATED]

Spencer Ernest Pierce, 23, of Mankato, was charged with felony first-degree damage to property in Otter Tail County District Court.

His first court appearance was June 25.

According to the criminal complaint, Pierce damaged a door on Aug. 14, 2012 in an attempt to escape the Community Behavioral Health Hospital in Fergus Falls. The estimated repair cost for the door was $1,852.93.

Pierce’s next court appearance is scheduled for July 8
