Jacob Leo Brist, 29, of Fergus Falls, was charged June 11 in Otter Tail County District Court with domestic assault and false imprisonment, both felonies.

According to the criminal complaint, Fergus Falls police received a call for a domestic assault in progress at 11:57 p.m. June 10 in the 500 block of South Peck Street. A woman told authorities that Brist had allegedly hit her in the head, face and arms, and he wouldn’t let her leave the bedroom. When she was able to reach the front door, Brist allegedly grabbed her by the hair and pulled her back, removing a large clump of her hair.

The victim had injuries around her temples and said her head hurt, the report says. She also had a cut on the inside of her mouth and bruises on her forearms.
