He was born January 14, 1937 at Fergus Falls to Reuben and Alice Newborg. He graduated in 1955 from Roosevelt Park Senior High School in Fergus Falls and Wahpeton State School of Science in 1960.

Chuck was employed at Winston G. Larson and Associates as an appraiser for several years then at the State of Minnesota Highway Department also as an appraiser. Then he became a relocation counselor retiring from the State in 1999. Chuck spent 10 years in the Minnesota National Guard and was discharged in 1960. On March 29, 1958 he was united in marriage to Judy Pesola in New York Mills. The couple lived at Fergus Falls for two years, at which time their first son, Kirby, was born. They then moved to Detroit Lakes where they resided from 1960 to 1972. In 1962 their second son, Anthony, was born. In 1972 they built a new home in rural Frazee where they resided until 1982, at which time Chuck’s employment with the State of Minnesota moved them to St. Michael, Minnesota area where they resided until 2004. Chuck moved to West Lost Lake, Fergus Falls, MN for his retirement.

Chuck enjoyed family gatherings, hunting, fishing, camping, motorcycling, traveling, woodworking, and looking forward to doing projects. He was a member of the Local Lakes Country sportsmen’s club. He was also a member of the Minn Farm Managers and Appraisers Association.

Chuck spent the last 5 years dealing with health issues.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Reuben and Alice Newborg, Wife Judy Pesola Newborg.

Surviving are his two sons Kirby (Dalynn) Newborg of St. Michael, MN and Anthony (Doreen) Newborg of Underwood; five grandchildren, Hannah (Jack) of St. Michael, Tyler (Hillary) of Fargo, Jason and Sarah Jo Newborg of Grand Forks, Robin (Nikki) of Stillwater, and Lynn and Michael Strand of Kindred, ND. Two brothers, Lloyd (Polly) Newborg of Baldwin, WI, Gary (Nancy) Newborg of New York Mills, and one sister Inga “Gay” (Bob) Borgen of Felton, and very close friend Clara Pesola of Underwood. He has many nephews, nieces, cousins and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 23 at Stavanger Lutheran Church, Fergus Falls, with Pastor Brent Juliot officiating. Viewing and prayer service were held Saturday, June 22, 2013 at the funeral home. The music was provided by Gaylan and Joy Mathiesen The pallbearers were Michael Pesola, Greg Pesola, Eric Pesola, Joe Newborg, Sherlock Jr. Houge, Steve Houge and Eli Pesola. The Honorary Pallbearers were Matthew Newborg, Christopher Newborg, Daniel Newborg, Clayton Matti and Mark Pesola. Military Honors were provided by Charles D. Center V.F.W. Post #3289 of New York Mills, Minnesota and the Minnesota Army Nation Guard, Honor Guard. Chuck was laid to rest in Woodland Cemetery, New York Mills, Minnesota.

Arrangements were provided by the Karvonen & Son Funeral Home of New York Mills.
