Gutzmer charged with assault

Jarid Allen Gutzmer, 32, of Fergus Falls, was charged June 13 in Otter Tail County District Court with felony domestic assault by strangulation, and two misdemeanor counts of domestic assault.

According to the criminal complaint, Fergus Falls police were called to a residence in the 500 block of North Vine Street at about 8:15 a.m. June 12. Gutzmer allegedly threw the woman around the night before, giving her rug burn. An argument turned violent, and Gutzmer allegedly jumped on her while she was on the bed, then he threw her on the bed two more times. She was head-butted which caused a nose bleed, the report says.
