Hughes sentenced to probation in drug case [UPDATED]

Jacob Daniel Hughes, 26, of Fergus Falls, was sentenced May 28 in Otter Tail County District Court to 20 years of supervised probation and 60 days in jail for felony third-degree drug possession. He pleaded guilty March 8.

According to the criminal complaint, Hughes was a passenger on a snowmobile that was stopped by Fergus Falls police Jan 16 at the Grotto Park. Hughes allegedly put bags containing 1.8 grams of methamphetamine in the snowmobile compartment. At the time, Hughes reportedly had a warrant in Otter Tail County for second-degree assault. He was arrested.
