The Fergus Falls Hurricanes were able to pick up two road victories over the weekend as it defeated the Henning Giants and the Perham Pirates.
On Saturday evening, the ‘Canes changed a home game to an away but its offensive production travel with them as Fergus defeated Henning 26-0.
Alex Hensch led the Fergus hitters going four for four with six RBI, while teammate Casey Kowalski hit a three-run homer on a way to a three for six day at the plate that netted the righty six RBI. Jamie Jacklitch also had a homerun for the ‘Canes.
Kowalski would also get the win on the mound going four innings, striking out eight. The Fergus pitching staff would record a three-pitcher no-hitter versus the Giants.
In Sunday’s game, an early scoring barrage allowed the ‘Canes to keep its flawless record as it topped the Pirates 4-2.
Fergus jumped out to an early 3-0 lead as a wild pitch and RBI by Kowalski and Jacklitch gave the visiting team the edge after the top of the first. Perham would respond with two runs of its own in the bottom half as Beau Bruhn’s double scored two. The ‘Canes would add an insurance run in the seventh as Jacklitch plated teammate Casey Bovkoon.
Darin Stanislawski picked up the win going seven innings and fanning 10 hitters. Jake Heck picked up the save for Fergus pitching the final two innings and sitting down four.
The Hurricanes will be back at home Friday as it hosts the Moorhead Brewers in a 7:30 p.m. match up.
