She was born on July 8, 1923, in Orwell Township of Fergus Falls. She was one of three children born to Albert and Lena (Hulsebus) Holloway of English and German heritage. Mila was later baptized and confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Fergus Falls. She attended School District # 197 and graduated from Washington High School of Fergus Falls in 1941. Mila worked at the Woolen Mills and Woolworth’s Department Store as a clerk and also did housekeeping and babysitting for others.
On February 20, 1944, she married Alfred H. Fronning at the First English Church of Fergus Falls. They were blessed with four children. The family farmed in Aastad Township, also Orwell, Tumuli and Buse Township for 37 years. They retired from dairy farming in 1966. In 1979 the couple moved to town. Mila is a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and their circles and ladies group. She also volunteered at Lake Region Hospital and was a member of a Homemaker’s group.
In her spare time, Mila enjoyed crafts, cards, going to bingo, gardening, square dancing and her collections of cookie jars which in fact she had over 250 jars.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Alfred who died in 2011; a brother, Carroll Holloway; a sister, Ella Ronningen and a son in law, Gerald Tenneson.
She is survived by her children, two daughters, Janelle (Duane) Gibble of Fairmount, ND, and Mary Bamberg of Fergus Falls; two sons, Bruce (Lori)Fronning of Breckenridge, and Brian of Fergus Falls; 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; a brother in law, Robert Ronningen of Pelican Rapids and many nieces and nephews.
Service: 2 p.m., Tuesday, June 25 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Fergus Falls, with a visitation one hour prior to the services at the church
