Otter girls say thanks [UPDATED]

Published 9:37am Wednesday, June 12, 2013 Updated 11:45am Wednesday, June 12, 2013

The Fergus Falls girls’ basketball team would like to give a big thank you to the community for their amazing support during the 2012-2013 basketball season.

There are a few special thank yous that we would like to extend out to specific people in the community: Gary and Sue, the activity directors at Fergus Falls High School, for the countless hours that they give up of personal time to make sure everything ran smoothly for us, the high school administration for dealing with us being out of class and being flexible about taking tests and finishing assignments, the pep band for their awesome music that easily trumps anyone else’s pep band, Park Region TV for televising a good number of our games, Craig Olson for broadcasting our games on the radio and publishing articles/photos on craigolsonsports.com, Daily Journal for publishing articles/photos and special editions, Ruby’s restaurant in Ashby for the great breakfast that they provided for us on the way down to state, the Ashby Fire and Rescue Department for the escort that we had out of Ashby after our breakfast at Ruby’s, Dr. Yvonne Hanley for the cookies that were given to us,

We also thank Kerry Kolle for the great signs that he made to display at our games and at our send-off, the Fergus Falls Police for their escort back into Fergus Falls after we won the section championship game, and last but definitely not least, all of the businesses around town that donated to our program.

Without those donations, the majority of costs would fall on us players, but that wasn’t the case and for that we are very thankful.
