Fergus Falls Job Service Team wins awardPublished 11:23am Monday, July 1, 2013
Rick Schara and John Weisenberger, Job Service staff of the Fergus Falls WorkForce Center, were members of the “Job Service Team of the Year,” recently recognized by the Minnesota Department of Employment & Economic Development (DEED).
The award, announced at the June 13 Workforce Development Training in Rochester, recognizes one Minnesota Job Service team that provides “outstanding service to job-seeking customers, exceptional returns to taxpayer dollars and a model of performance as a team.”
It also recognized that the Fergus Falls team “has functioned strongly and increased their effectiveness.”
Kathy Carney, team leader and area field operations manager for the Northwest/North Central region, said “Our team demonstrated a commitment to their customers which includes job seekers, veterans and businesses.
“This award,” Carney continued, “acknowledges our efforts to increase the value and benefits to our customers.
State leadership recognized the Northwest/North Central team as being creative, collaborative thinkers who implement new work force projects within the region.”
Team members consist of Business Services Representatives, Veterans, and Workforce Development staff from other communities in the region including Alexandria, Brainerd, Bemidji, Crookston, Detroit Lakes and Moorhead.
