Michelle Danielson-Berger Biography from Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, July 27, 2013.

Michelle Danielson-Berger, a 1993 graduate of Fergus Falls High School, was asked to join the high school track team as an eighth grader. She went on to win state in the 800 meter run that year, in 1989.

Danielson-Berger also ran cross country for the Otters and played basketball and slow pitch softball. She went on to win the state meet in the 800 meter run, again, as a senior in 1993.

In college, she was an outstanding athlete her freshman year at MSU in Moorhead and then the next three years at NDSU in Fargo.

She was an All-American in track and cross country in college while studying exercise science, nutrition and coaching. As a collegiate 800 meter runner, she posted a personal best of 2:10.

She is married to Travis Berger, another former and outstanding Otter athlete.

“Travis has given me the encouragement, love and support that’s made me into the confident woman and mother I am today,” she said.

The family lives in Arkansas. The Bergers will celebrate their 20th anniversary on August 28. They have four children. Son Gunner is 14, daughter Gracie is 11 and twin daughters Tia and Layla are 10.

As for her career, Danielson-Berger says that BuffMother.com has impacted thousands of women over the past nine-plus years. She’s an author, fitness guru and online trainer/coach to women all over the world.

“My goal is to help women, especially mothers, to be their best in all areas of life physically, mentally and spiritually,” she said.

The 1993 FFHS grad and former Otter said she gives a big thanks to all family members, coaches, teachers, teammates and friends along the way.

“They’ve made my life a constant source of joy,” she said. “I’m very proud to be from the town of Fergus Falls. The citizens of this community have always welcomed me home with many warm friendly encounters; it’s outstanding. Thank you for the amazing honor to be included in the Chamber Sports Hall of Fame.”
