Attachments International to expand home marketPublished 11:02am Tuesday, July 23, 2013
Their attachment tools head out in shipments all over the country, but now they’re focused on getting the word out at home.
Attachments International will host their first Super Saturday Blowout Sale on August 10 from 8 a.m. to noon. The sale comes with a new effort to reach out to the local market in Pelican Rapids and the surrounding area.
Customers are invited to stop in during the event and take a look at all the quality options the company offers for different tractor attachments.
“Mostly it’s because we have heard from local people that they didn’t even know we are here and they often ask if we’re open on Saturday,” said Rhonda Koch, the officer manager at the shop located in the Pelican Rapids industrial park. “So, we decided to try it and see what happens.”
With a large office and manufacturing facility on site, Attachments International employs 20 people who produce high quality attachment parts for skid steers, tractors, loaders and excavators. Each part is assembled at the facility and made from the best material around.
“The fact that we make the strongest attachments has kept us popular,” Koch said. “A lot of products that are similar to ours are made of cheaper material to be cost effective. We have people say they wish they would have just bought ours to begin with.”
Attachments International’s products are used on many popular brands of tractors and machines, including Bobcat, Case, Caterpillar and John Deere. With the hay harvest around the corner and snow imminent in the future, the company has two seasonal sales to accommodate the increase in demand for each event.
Besides those sales, however, the company has started several campaigns to attract local agricultural business. A newly designed website has brought in 44,000 hits since November of last year and more advertising has been ordered for the local area as well. A new line of agricultural attachments for tractors should attract many in the area as well.
“When we tell people where we are, they say, ‘Oh, that’s not too far from where I’m at,’” Koch said. “We’re trying to step it up a little bit. I’m excited about this sale.”
Attatchments International has been located in Pelican Rapids since the 1980s. Koch said that the company’s history with the town and its close ties to the economy has also driven the recent change. With more local farmers, construction specialists and others in need of their products coming to the shop, Koch said the company can expect to further that relationship.
