CPR given in one diving accident on Otter Tail LakePublished 11:15am Friday, July 5, 2013
Two men were injured in separate diving accidents Thursday, according to the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office.
A 35-year-old Breckenridge man dove head first off a dock into water that was approximately 3 feet deep in the east side of Otter Tail Lake at about 9:30 p.m., according to a news release. A witness noticed he was unconscious after the dive and brought him to shore.
The man was alert for a short period of time, then became short of breath. He then stopped breathing and lost his pulse. Bystanders administered CPR and his pulse and breathing were restored.
The man was transported by Perham Ambulance and then by Life Flight to North Memorial.
A 23-year-old man was also injured when he jumped off a dock into shallow water on Lake Lizzie at about 4:30 p.m. Thursday. Water patrol responded to the scene, and he was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital.
The conditions of the men were not known Friday morning.
