Vipers bite Lake Park 11-1

Published 10:00am Friday, July 12, 2013

The Fergus Falls Vipers bats did the damage, its pitching closed the door as it breezed past visiting Lake Park-Audubon 11-1 Thursday.

Lake Park struck early plating a run in the first, but starting pitcher Sean McGuire would get in a groove as he allowed only one hit and struck out seven in his four innings of work.

The offense didn’t remain silent either as it quickly tied the game and followed with a three-run and five-run inning, tightening its grasp on the visitor.

Adam Swanson led the Fergus hitters going two for two with four RBI, while also pitching a perfect fifth inning. Teammates Bret Swedberg and Ryan King each plated two runs in the victory.

The Vipers will now take on city rival the Fergus Falls Falcons Monday at M State baseball field in a 6:30 p.m. showdown.
