We are all descendents of ‘The king,’ Jesus Christ

We Americans seem captivated by the news of the baby British prince.

Although the royal family has little actual political power, the crown greatly influences English culture and that of Christian cultures as well.

The pageantry and pomp of the marriage of Prince William and Kate showed the world the solemnity of marital vows. As we anticipated the birth of the new royal heir, we were one again reminded of the sacred nature of each new birth.

We can draw from this experience that each of us is the child of a king, Christ the King.

And we can remember that every marriage between a man and woman and every birth should be so treasured.

In scriptures we are reminded that we are children of God and heirs of God, co-heirs with Christ, to share in his sufferings so we may also share in His Glory. (Romans 8:17).

Hug your children.
