A 58-year-old Fergus Falls man suffered a head injury after the motorcycle he was driving was hit in the Big Chief truck stop parking lot Thursday evening, according to a news release from the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office.
A 22-year-old Rhode Island man driving a pickup truck was headed toward the exit of Big Chief just before 7 p.m. when he reportedly decided to make a u-turn back toward the convenience store.
He waited for a truck and trailer to enter the lot, then started to make the turn, not realizing there was a motorcycle out of sight close behind the commercial trailer.
The driver of the pickup hit the Harley Davidson, throwing it onto its side.
The motorcycle driver was taken to Lake Region Hospital.
He was not wearing a helmet.
The driver of the pickup was not injured.
