A 23-year-old Fergus Falls man was arrested Wednesday night after he assaulted his father and then fought with police at the detox facility, according to police.

The man’s father called police at 9:22 p.m. because he reportedly wanted his son removed since he had been drinking, and he reportedly hit his father in the head and chest.

The son was arrested and taken to detox, where he was verbally and sexually aggressive with officers and staff, and he refused to go into a seclusion room.

The man was arrested for fifth-degree domestic assault, obstruction of the legal process and disorderly conduct. He was later taken to jail.
