Amanda Marit Mitlyng, 32, of Underwood, was charged in Otter Tail County District Court with felony fifth-degree drug possession, gross misdemeanor DWI and petty misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Her first court appearance was Aug. 16.
According to the criminal complaint, police were called to the 800 block of West Cavour Avenue in Fergus Falls at 2:50 p.m. Aug. 15 for a suspicious vehicle. Mitlyng was behind the wheel of a parked car, with the engine running. She reportedly told the officer she had injected herself with methamphetamine 30 minutes earlier. A hypodermic needle and 50 non-narcotic pills were found in the vehicle.
