Driver hits power pole [UPDATED]

A driver fled the scene after its vehicle struck a power pole at the intersection of Jewett Lake Road and County Hwy. 27, according to the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office.

A black, 1999 Toyota Rav4 was westbound on Jewett Lake Road, missed the intersection, rolled into the west ditch and hit the power pole. Authorities were unable to locate the driver, but the vehicle sustained extensive damage and both airbags were deployed.

Lake Region Electric responded and replaced the pole. An unknown amount of customers were affected.
