The Rothsay volleyball team couldn’t keep up with a rolling Ulen-Hitterdal Spartans team on Tuesday night, falling three sets to zero.
Ulen-Hitterdal opened with a 25-20 win in the first set against the Tigers. They followed up with a 25-9 and a 25-15 victory to put away the visiting squad.
Kristina Pollock led the Tiger offense with five kills. Skylar Buckingham contributed eight assists and four digs on defense. She also had three aces off of serves.
Briana Joubert led Rothsay’s defense with 10 digs. Kendra Nord followed close behind with nine of her own and also had four kills. Chelsie Lankow recorded six digs and two kills, with one ace serving on the night.
“Our younger players stepped up and showed some good things tonight,” said Tiger head coach Heather Reber. “For many of the girls, it was their first full-time varsity match. We have some key players injured to start the season so we are going to continue focusing on getting healthy and improving with each game.”
The Tigers will host Parkers Prairie on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
