Grant County seeks Legacy grant [UPDATED]Published 9:35am Friday, August 30, 2013 Updated 11:35am Friday, August 30, 2013
Grant County officials have submitted pre-application paperwork as part of a request for a $218,000 Legacy grant from the state.
The grant would go towards a Conservation and Replication project for interior murals, woodwork and more at the Grant County Courthouse. Those repairs would be phase one of a two-part plan. If money were to come through for the second phase at a later date, repairs would be made to the public spaces on the first floor of the courthouse.
More than 10 murals in the courthouse would be slated for conservation if the state funding comes through. The total cost of phase one of the project would be $298,000, but Grant County has received a $90,000 grant from the Jeffers Family Foundation toward the courthouse conservation.
