The Kaddatz Gallery has a number of arts opportunities available this summer for all ages. Educational programming is being offered to include workshops for adults, with the first workshop in Plein Air Pastel with Cindy McDougall, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, at the Prairie Wetlands Learning Center.

Participants will enjoy the beauty of their surroundings while learning about light, value, color mixing with pastels and landscape drawing.

Registration is $50, and materials fee is $35. Space is limited; please contact the gallery to register.

Artists of all ages and skill levels can enter the Kale Art Contest. A collaboration with the One Vegetable, One Community project, the kale art contest is looking to expand the conversation about this food through the visual arts.

Entries will be exhibited at the Kaddatz Gallery and A Center for the Arts Sept. 1 through Oct. 4, with a reception for the artists 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5. Deadline for entries is Aug. 27.
