A native of Long Prairie, Mikko Cowdery has performed Irish songs and other British Isle ballads in coffee houses in the 60s, rockabilly and country in bars in the 70s and 80s, and returned to his Irish roots in the 90s. He will be performing at the 6:30 p.m. Concert in the Park in Fergus Falls.

In addition, he loves singing old jazz and pop standards, and appreciates audiences that remember and understand the lyrical music of half-a-century ago.

Cowdery and his Irish trio, Skilly & Duff, were first-place winners in the Celtic music competition at the 2009 Irish Fair of Minnesota, and have performed throughout southern Ireland and through the maritime provinces of Canada.

His songs are often interspersed with a poems, stories, toasts, jokes or anecdotes gathered through his many musical adventures.
