Highway 9 detour near Breckenridge begins Aug. 15 [UPDATED]

DETROIT LAKES —Motorists on Highway 9 northeast of Breckenridge will encounter a detour and possible delays when a bridge replacement project begins Aug. 15, weather permitting.

Crews will replace the bridge at Wilkin County Ditch 31 about three miles north of Highway 210.

During the project Highway 9 will close, and motorists will detour to Highway 75 and Wilkin County Road 18.

Residents who live within the road closure will be allowed to use Highway 9 during the project, except the at the bridge construction site.




The road work is expected to be complete by late September, weather permitting.
