Lake Region Electric Cooperative in Pelican Rapids reported the fire at 4:08 p.m. The power company worked on power lines that sparked, causing the fire. The company tried to extinguish the fire, but Dent and Vergas fire departments were called in and were on the scene for about an hour to get the fire out.
