Vehicle hauling sand rolls [UPDATED]Published 9:47am Wednesday, September 4, 2013 Updated 11:49am Wednesday, September 4, 2013
A semi trailer hauling sand went into a ditch and rolled Tuesday morning, according to a news release from the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office.
The vehicle hauling a load of sand was headed eastbound on County Road 18 near 250th Street. The driver, a 56-year-old Vining woman, tried to veer to the right onto 250th Street, from pavement to gravel. The vehicle went off the left side of the gravel, into the ditch and rolled on its side.
The driver reportedly said she was used to hauling silage and she misjudged the stopping distance due to the extra weight of the sand. She was not injured.
