Curtis V. Reinan, 73, of Las Vegas, Nev., died unexpectedly July 2, 2013, at his residence.
He was born Nov. 11, 1939, in Fargo, was a 1957 graduate of Fergus Falls High School and graduated from Moorhead State University in 1962. He entered the Air Force for a 20-year career achieving the rank of major.
While in the Air Force he received a masters degree from Ball State University. A retired Air Force officer, decorated as a fighter pilot during the Vietnam war he had resided in Las Vegas since his Air Force retirement. After retirement he worked for several corporations before retiring from Nevada Energy in 2009.
An avid sports fan, he also refereed basketball and softball for years in Nevada.
He often returned to Fergus Falls to visit family and friends and always felt an attachment here.
He is survived by a daughter, Jennifer (Chris) Zavestoski of Las Vegas; a granddaughter, Jadan; a
sister, Gaynell (Chuck) McGinley of San Ramon, Calif.; a brother, John in Fergus Falls; and four nephews, Michael and Brian in California, and John and Matthew in Minnesota.
Those who knew Curt will remember him as a kind and thoughtful man who will be deeply missed.
A memorial service is planned at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. A private burial is planned in Hunter, N.D.
