Pelican Valley to build apartment units this fallPublished 10:45am Friday, September 6, 2013
Three additional one-bedroom apartments will be built at the Riverfront on Main assisted living complex in Pelican Rapids, according to the Pelican Rapids Press.
Up to $50,000 was approved for demolition and renovation at the Pelican Valley Hospital District board meeting on August 26.
The units will be converted from traditional, double nursing home rooms to assisted living apartments. The finished apartments will be 400 square-foot dwellings.
There are two prospective residents for the apartment on the waiting list. Work could begin in September and the units could be ready by late winter or the spring of 2014.
Construction on a fourth one-bedroom apartment is expected to begin next year. The unit will be built in space that was previously used as a therapy room at the former Good Samaritan Center.
