FARGO — The Hillcrest/Pelican Rapids Comet soccer team traveled to Fargo North for their first major test of the season. The Comets played a physical Spartan team to a scoreless tie.

The Comets saw several opportunities to take the go-ahead goal, but could not find the back of the net.

Quincy Undseth and Hobbs Diaz teamed up in the Comet net and stopped five shots on goal. The Comets put ten shots on the Spartan goal.

“It was a good contest for the Comets this evening,” Comet coach Rod Jensen said. “They learned much in competing against a faster, more physical team such as the Spartans. This will help us improve and enable us to better compete with some of the stronger teams in our section.”

The Comets’ record is now 4-0-1 and it will travel to St. John’s Prep on Thursday for a 4:30 p.m. contest.
