Finn Shui II display opens on Sept. 21 [UPDATED]Published 9:23am Thursday, September 12, 2013 Updated 11:23am Thursday, September 12, 2013
The Shirlee Aho Daulton and Sandra Shaughnessy: Finn Shui II exhibit will be on display Sept. 21st through Nov. 15
A reception and artist’s talk is scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m. Sept. 26, at the Kaddatz Gallery.
Shirlee Daulton works in a variety of media and continually strives to grow in the creative approach to her art.
Her summers are spent in Ottertail where she maintains a studio and gallery, “The Arthouse.”
She resides in Mesa, Ariz., during the winter months where the desert and southwestern cultures provide a different environment and stimulus to her work.
She combines the Minnesota flora and desert plants in her baskets and papermaking.
The primary link in her artwork is the use of her surroundings. Gathering plants, catching fish to print, sketching a local scene are activities which combine nature and the pursuit of her art projects.
She has been represented by galleries in several states and received several awards in painting, paper and pottery throughout her career.
Her art has been acquired by commercial and private collections nationally and internationally.
