Warriors ground Rockets in three sets [UPDATED]

WHEATON — The Underwood volleyball team saw a great first set turn the Warriors way and so did the game as the home team won a three-set bout 25-23, 25-19, 25-18 Thursday.

“Wheaton has a solid team and came through at the end of each set,” Rockets coach Diane Ross said. “We are improving in every match.”

Karlea Thorson led the Rockets from the service line going 19 for 20 with three aces, while teammate Kenzie Woodman had 17 digs on the defensive end in the game.

The Rockets will look to charge up for its next competition as it takes on Little Eight Conference foe Rothsay in the Tigers’ den at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
