Chargers to host fundraiser for Nohre and familyPublished 9:58am Tuesday, September 17, 2013
On Thursday, Sept. 26, the Brandon-Evansville Charger volleyball team will be hosting a fundraiser for seventh-grader Jordan Nohre and her family during its match against the Ashby Arrows at the Evansville gym.
Nohre was diagnosed with an aggressive form of leukemia last spring and the Brandon-Evansville would like to help her and her family.
“Currently we are wearing orange shoe laces to recognize both Jordan’s fight and because it is Leukemia Awareness Month,” Charger coach Kelly Olson said. “I know the greatest thing about a small community is the fact that when one of us is hurting, the members of that community respond.”
Fans are asked to where as much orange as they can to the gym. Orange shoe laces will be on sale for $5 and orange ribbons will be given out when a donation is given to Jordan. There will be a 50/50 bucket and serving contests between sets.
The auction will begin at 5 p.m. during the C-team game. JV will follow at 6 p.m. and the Varsity is slated for a 7:30 p.m. start time. All proceeds from the event will go directly to the Nohre family.
