LITTLE FALLS — The Hillcrest/Pelican Rapids boys just keep adding wins and shut outs to its 2013 season as it took down host Little Falls 8-0 Monday.
The Comets opened up the scoring at the 12 minute mark as a Eduardo Urbano pass found Chris Pellegrino for the score. Gjermond Saevig added Hillcrest second goal of the half 13 minutes later. Chris Larson and Pellegrino would add two more goals before the break.
In the second half, Pellegrino would find the back of the net off a Kevin Franco pass to score his third straight hat trick. Pellegrino would follow that up with a fourth goal, this time off a pass from Sondra Harila to put the Comets up 6-0 at the 49 minute mark. Kevin Franco would knock in an unassisted goal and Andreas Aurilien finished off the Hillcrest scoring.
Comet goalie Abdul Ahmed picked up the shutout in net, but due to the Hillcrest defenders Edgar Diaz, Danny Franco, Chris Franco, Quincy Undseth and Henrick Baugsto, Ahmed only had to protect the net from three shots.
The Comets will now prepare for the a showdown with section rival No. 6 ranked St. Cloud Cathedral Saturday at St. Cloud State at 1 p.m.
