Daniel Walter Engelke, 40, of Perham, pleaded guilty and was sentenced Sept. 9 in Otter Tail County District Court to 365 days in jail, with 325 days to be stayed for six years, for gross misdemeanor DWI. In exchange for the plea, an additional count of gross misdemeanor DWI was dismissed.
According to the criminal complaint, Engelke was pulled over on State Hwy. 10 at 9:05 p.m. Aug. 12 after his vehicle crossed the center line. A preliminary breath test revealed his blood alcohol concentration to be 0.30.
Engelke also has a DWI conviction in Montana from Dec. 26, 2004.
