Sarah Ella Tweeter was born June 21, 1927, to William and Edna (Kranz) Toboll in Montevideo. She grew up on the farm in rural Montevideo.
Sarah was confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Montevideo in 1941.
She married Richard “Dick” Tweeter in December 1945.
The couple made their home in Alexandria. In 1950, they moved to Evansville.
Sarah worked for several restaurants and cafes where she was renowned for her cooking and baking.
Dick passed away on May 23, 2005.
Sarah was a past president of the Evansville Senior Citizens Club and was very active with them. She enjoyed baking, cooking, crossword puzzles, embroidery and watching the Minnesota Twins and Vikings.
She is survived by her children, Richard, Jr. (Betty) of Douglas, Wyo., James (Rhonda) of Richville, Leslie of Evansville, Julie of New Orleans, La., and Jeffrey (Tammie Lunceford) of Evansville; five grandchildren, Shane, Michelle, Chris, Patrick and Rhiannon; one great-grandchild, Alexa; and a half-brother, Ernest Toboll of Kansas City, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband.
Visitation: Monday from 5 to 7 p.m., with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m., at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the service at the church
Service: 11 a.m. Tuesday, at Faith Lutheran Church, Evansville
