Hosting Warriors shoot down Arrows in three setsPublished 10:52am Tuesday, September 24, 2013
After making a showing in the silver round of the Ulen-Hitterdal tournament this Saturday, the Ashby Arrows hit the road again on Monday night to take on the Wheaton/Herman-Norcross Warriors.
The Arrows played three solid sets of volleyball, but fell to Wheaton in three sets (25-16, 25-18, 25-15).
Cassandra Jordan led the Arrow defense with 14 digs. She was also perfect from the service line, going 7-7. Madison Krupke also contributed to the Arrow defense with 13 digs. She also went 11-11 servicing with an ace and contributed two kills as well.
Paige Nelson also contributed eight digs and five kills.
“I really felt that despite the score, we played some pretty good volleyball and worked hard to keep the games close,” said Arrow head coach Andrea Knick. “We need to cut down on our errors on and off the net, and communicate better, but I think our biggest hurdle is mental toughness … just go out there and giving it our all with out worrying about anything else! It is something that we will keep working hard to overcome in these next few games.”
The Arrows are back in action once again tonight as they take on the Battle Lake Battlers in a Little Eight Conference contest. The match begins at 7:30 p.m.
