STAPLES – The Pelican Rapids Vinkings relied on another strong performance on the ground Friday night as it rushed past the Staples-Motley Cardinals. With three backs over the 100-yard mark, the Vikings accumulated 389 yards as a team on the ground.
Ryan Bruggeman leading the attack with 14 carries for 133 yards and two touchdowns. Nick Thompson broke the century mark with 118 yards on 19 carries for two touchdowns. Hauge Lee was the third Viking to rush for over 100 yards, taking the ball 116 yards on seven carries and two touchdowns.
With the win, the Vikings move to 3-2 and look to continue a two-game win streak at 7 p.m. on Friday when it hosts East Grand Forks.
