The Fergus Falls woman who threatened another woman with a hammer was charged Sept. 4 in Otter Tail County District Court.

Naveena Pearl Bad Moccasin, 23, was charged with felony second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon and misdemeanor fifth-degree assault.

According to the police report, Bad Moccasin had a hammer in her hand, swung at the other woman but missed while the two were at an apartment building in the 200 block of North Mill Street at about 6:15 p.m. Sept. 3.

Bad Moccasin resisted officers as she was arrested, and she was brought to Lake Region Healthcare as she was believed to be under the influence of controlled substances and alcohol. She was then taken to jail.

Bad Moccasin’s next court appearance is scheduled for Sept. 16.

She was sentenced to jail time in May in a case where she stole a squad car and led police on a chase.
