Cowgirls gallop past Vikings

Published 9:53am Wednesday, September 25, 2013

BRECKENRIDGE — The Pelican Rapids Vikings could not pony up to the net Tuesday as the hosting Cowgirls were able to sweep a Heart O’Lakes Conference match 25-8, 25-18, 25-19.

The Vikings, playing without middle hitter Madeline Sytsma, were looking for someone to stir up its offense.

Breckenridge would not give them a chance as it swept through the visitor for its second win over the Vikings.

Grace Forsgren, playing for Sytsma, led the attack with five kills, while teammates Mackenzie Korf (12) and Ariel Martinson (11) combined for 23 digs in the match.

The Vikings will look to get back into the win column at 7:30 p.m. Thursday as it hosts another HOL conference opponent in Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton.
