M State volleyball sweeps Riverland in homecoming match

The M State Spartan volleyball team was able to make quick work of the visiting Riverland Blue Devils Saturday 25-5, 25-21, 25-10.

The Spartans did not allow the homecoming festivities to get in the way of a win as it dominated the first and third sets of the match.

Teresa Moenkedick led the Spartan defense with 20 digs, while teammates Gretchen Freed and Shae Brown chipped in 13 and 10 digs.

The Spartans move to 10-10 on the year and will travel to Ellendale to take on Trinity Bible at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
