Perham man receives probation for threats [UPDATED]

Todd Allen Handt, 30, of Perham, was sentenced Sept. 23 in Otter Tail County District Court to five years of supervised probation for felony terroristic threats.

He pleaded guilty Aug. 26.

According to the criminal complaint, Handt grabbed a rifle and loaded it June 28 while with a woman at a Perham residence.

They had argued earlier that day, and Handt had made comments in the past about killing the woman and killing himself, the report says.

The woman reportedly feared for her life.
