Proposed parking rules meets resistance [UPDATED]

Two Pelican Rapids homeowners raised concerns at a Sept. 10 city council meeting about a proposed alternate-side parking ordinance.

Originally discussed as a means to improve winter access for snow plows, the ordinance was modified to be in place all year. It was the all-year component of the ordinance that worried homeowners.

The ordinance was approved in April but has not yet been implemented. This latest delay means the council has limited time to get the ordinance on the books by winter.
