Ranked Warriors top Spartans

Published 10:15am Thursday, September 5, 2013

The M State Spartans looked to have swayed the momentum after tying the match after the second set, but a strong rally by the No. 7 ranked Ridgewater Warriors saw the host fall in four sets 25-17, 21-25, 25-20, 25-19 Wednesday evening.

The offensive attack of the Warriors proved to be too powerful for M State to stop as Outside hitter Tegan VanMoer recorded 22 kills.

Cheyenne O’Neal and Teresa Moenkedick each collected 11 kills for the Spartans, while teammate Shae Brown went 15 of 16 from the service line with three aces.

The Spartans fall back to .500 with a 4-4 record as it travels to Rochester Friday for a two-day tournament.
