Rebels take down Vikings in 3 sets

PELICAN RAPIDS – Trying to find their stride after a rough couple weeks, the Pelican Rapids volleyball team will have to look elsewhere after falling to the Dillworth-Glyndon-Felton Rebels in three sets (25-21, 25-19, 25-16).

The Vikings started off well against the Rebels, keeping within four points at the end of the match. Too many overpasses and free balls sent to the opposition helped keep the Vikings out of contention, however.

After the fiery start, the Vikings fell flat and gave up the first nine points to the Rebels. After battling back, the Vikings started to carry the momentum. But it would be too little too as the Rebels took the second set by six points.

Looking to shut the game out, the Rebels picked up their aggressiveness at the net and found open shots. That spelt doom for the Vikings, as it fell by nine in the final set.

The Vikings will be back in action this Saturday at the Fergus Falls tournament.
