Yellowjackets blank Patriots in second half for 19-6 win

PEQUOT LAKES – A defensive stalemate went the way of the Perham Yellowjackets Friday night as it defeated the Pequot Lakes Patriots on the road 19-6.

Perham jumped out to a 13-0 lead in the first quarter after a nine-yard Payton Jordahl run and a 50-yard sprint by Nick Bahls.

The Patriots scored their only touchdown in the second, but the Yellowjackets responded with a 50-yard pass from Bahls to Tyler Glines for the score.

Jordahl led the Yellowjackets on the ground with 118 yards on 17 carries and one touchdown.

Cole Schmitz led the Perham defense with eight solo tackles.

The Yellowjackets improve to 4-1 on the year and are in action again at 7 p.m. Friday night when it hosts Thief River Falls in Perham.
