Individuals interested in careers as certified nursing assistants (CNAs) have an opportunity for fall training at Minnesota State Community and Technical College in Fergus Falls.
A nursing assistant class is offered from 4 to 9:30 p.m. on Mondays and Tuesdays from October 14 through November 12. In addition to classroom work, students will be required to complete 20 hours of clinical training.
Interested students must complete the online “Visiting Student” application at HYPERLINK “http://www.minnesota.edu/forms” www.minnesota.edu/forms and also register for the course online at HYPERLINK “http://www.minnesota.edu/cna” www.minnesota.edu/cna. Click on credit-based courses under the Nursing Assistant heading, and then on Fergus Falls Fall 2013 to register for HLTH 1115.
A background check is required for the course, and students who complete the course and are hired as nursing assistants are eligible for reimbursement for the cost of the course, depending on the facility. The starting salary for CNAs is typically $10 to $12 per hour or more.
