PWLC students will be in class, but not on the prairiePublished 11:40am Wednesday, October 2, 2013
The federal government shutdown has forced the Prairie Wetlands Learning Center to furlough its employees and close to the public.
However, the center is unique because it is partly owned and operated by the Fergus Falls Public School District and is also part of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
The Learning Center will remain open and students will still attend classes there, but will not be able to participate in outdoor activities on the trails and other federal lands, which are shut down indefinitely.
